For my internship, I helped direct and produce a children's musical with local theater group Tomorrow Youth Repertory. I blocked scenes, led warm ups, and assisted during the show itself as a stage hand. I also had to generally use skills of compassion, patience, and understanding in order to work with children.
My internship was hectic at times, but overall a rewarding experience and one I feel like not only played well of off skills I already have, but taught me new skills I can bring to a future career. I have honed my ability to manage creative projects, make decisions for the benefit of a large group, and organize how time and resources are used. As someone who wishes to be a director, I have now had a taste of what that experience is like. This will also help me for my senior project in which I am directing a production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance Of Being Earnest. I had an amazing experience interning with Tomorrow Youth Repertory, one that I feel like has left a considerable positive impact on my life so far.
